On Saturday, a medical emergency occurred on Eurowings flight EW 5110 from Cologne / Bonn to Hurghada, which led to an unscheduled landing at Klagenfurt Airport. Despite intensive efforts, the 71-year-old passenger did not survive.

The cabin crew is said to have taken care of the passenger who had suffered a medical emergency. The captain decided to land at Klagenfurt Airport immediately so that the man could be admitted to a hospital. However, any help came too late because the senior did not survive. The doctors have officially determined a natural death.

Eurowings expresses its "deepest condolences" to the family of the deceased to the Bild newspaper. The carrier also explains: “There was a medical emergency on board flight EW 5110. A male passenger was immediately given medical attention by the cabin crew ”.

The flight to Hurghada was not continued from Klagenfurt. The Eurowings plane flew back to Cologne / Bonn - including passengers. On Sunday morning, the passengers were flown to their destination in Hurghada.
