The Lufthansa subsidiary Swiss is thinking out loud that a compulsory vaccination could be introduced on long-haul flights. One relies on cooperation with other countries, which should lead to the fact that the passengers can enter without quarantine.

According to local media reports, the project is still at an early stage. The Federal Office of Civil Aviation is also involved, because things like this have to be negotiated bilaterally between states. If Switzerland can conclude agreements with other countries, it could happen that only vaccinated passengers may travel on certain Swiss flights.

These should then have the advantage on both sides of the border that there is no quarantine. The project could be marketed as so-called “vaccinated travel flights”. These are based on the former "Tested Flights" offered by the United States, for example, in cooperation with Italy.
