The German Football Association and Lufthansa Airlines are extending their partnership up to and including 2026.

The German airline remains the official airline of the German men's national team and continues to fly players, coaches and support staff to international matches and tournaments. The national team will start with Lufthansa for the 2022 World Cup as early as mid-November. The DFB and Lufthansa have been cooperating since 2005. On November 14, a Lufthansa Airbus A330 will fly the DFB team to the short training camp and to the last international match before the World Cup in Muscat.

"As the airline of sports, we look forward to continuing the long-standing and successful partnership with the DFB and to flying the national team to their tournaments in the next four years. Fairness, team spirit and top performance are not only values for every competitive athlete, but also a motivation for all Lufthansa employees worldwide,” says Stefan Kreuzpaintner, Chief Commercial Officer at Lufthansa Airlines. "I am particularly proud that with Lufthansa and the DFB two partners who stand for cosmopolitanism and live diversity continue to cooperate."
