The in-house startup of Bolzano Airport, Skyalps, took off for the first time in the direction of Ibiza on Thursday afternoon. The charter flight was operated by the Maltese Luxwing. The destination is Ibiza, with a stopover in Parma for boarding.
Under the flight number LWG1961, the 9H-BEL took off commercially at Bozen Airport on Thursday at around 14:18 p.m. This was the first time in around six years that a commercial scheduled flight was operated from South Tyrol Airport. Luxwing is initially flying this DHC Dash 8-400 to Parma, where more passengers will board. Then it goes to Ibiza and back again.
33 passengers boarded the first flight in Bolzano. Non-stop flights to Rome and to European destinations such as Berlin are to be started shortly. Skyalps has two DHC Dash 8-400 operated by the Maltese Luxwing. This was provided by Aviation Direct in this photo special.
