Until now, European countries were known for the inflationary "distribution" of flight bans. Now it affects several countries that have been banned from landing in Morocco. Passenger flights that have started in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Turkey and Switzerland are undesirable in the African country.

The background to this is that the government of Morocco has declared the aforementioned states to be high-risk areas due to the rapid spread of corona mutations. Regardless of their citizenship, people who have stayed in the countries mentioned are no longer allowed to enter. "Bypassing" by means of transfer flights should also be prevented.

Morocco stresses that only passenger flights to Morocco are prohibited. It is still possible to fly in the opposite direction. Departures are also allowed at any time. The landing ban for machines that took off in the United Kingdom, which was already issued in December 2020, remains in place.
