After several weeks of talks and negotiations, no airline has expressed interest in starting flights between Sofia and Skopje. This threatens to fail the plan of the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport.

A few weeks ago, the parties involved were still optimistic. The establishment of a line connection between the two capitals seemed only a matter of form. The hottest candidate for the conclusion of the contract at the time was Wizz Air. But there are now increasing signs that there will be no scheduled flight connection at all - despite the intensive efforts of the Bulgarian Ministry to start flights between the two capitals by the start of the summer flight schedule. Talks were held with several potential airlines. There was even a rumor in the media that the Bulgarian airline Gullivair is already working on launching the flights. But this has since been denied by the CEO of the carrier. The planned line connection is therefore finally on the brink of collapse.
