The insolvent airline Norwegian Air Shuttle confirmed that the Boeing 737 Max aircraft that had been ordered will neither be accepted nor used in flight operations. The prerequisite for this, however, is that the low-cost airline can successfully complete the creditor protection procedure.

If that is not the case, Norwegian Air Shuttle will liquidate in the second quarter of 2021. Long before the corona pandemic, the carrier was in enormous debt with an aggressive expansion. In the fourth quarter of 2020 alone, they posted a loss of 1,95 billion US dollars. Both Ireland and Norway are under bankruptcy protection.

So far, Boeing has not been able to reach an agreement on the cancellation of the bulk order. The Airbus order got rid of, however. The company is now writing off the down payments already made to both manufacturers. You have no alternative because you have not yet reached an agreement with Boeing. In Ireland they are trying to achieve this through legal proceedings, but Boeing insists on the USA as a location. In the meantime there is even a threat of a foreclosure auction of ten B737-800s.
