From December 13th there will be a new night train connection from Vienna to Paris with a stop in Munich.

The Nightjet runs three times a week, as it says on ORF. The connection is offered jointly by ÖBB, Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the French SNCF. Departure from Vienna is at 19.40 p.m., arrival in Paris the next day at 9.42 a.m.

"With the Nightjet from Vienna to Paris, we are setting another milestone for a European night train network," said ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä. The only way to get more people to switch to the train is with additional direct connections. "Europe should grow even closer together, also on the railways," said DB Board Member for Passenger Transport, Berthold Huber. A significant expansion of the European night train network is planned together with the European railway companies.

When Deutsche Bahn's timetable changes on December 13, a new night train will also start from Zurich via Basel and Cologne to Amsterdam.
