The Executive Committee of the Austrian Trade Union Confederation has given formal approval for a 24-hour railway workers' strike, which is to take place on Monday, November 28, 2022 from midnight to midnight.

The Vida trade union calls on its members at all railway companies in Austria to stop work. Earlier, the Chamber of Commerce left the negotiating table and recommended that its members increase salaries based on the latest offer, which was rejected by Vida. For example, the Westbahn follows this recommendation.

If the industrial action is not canceled at short notice, considerable restrictions on rail traffic can be expected on Monday. While a large turnout is expected at the ÖBB, it is unclear how many employees of the private and state railways will take part.
