In the "Corona year" 2020, the number of registered motorized aircraft in classes A to F increased from 1.280 to 1.328 aircraft in Austria. In category F, in which there are aircraft over 20 tons, 29 aircraft more were registered in a year-on-year comparison.

In the other weight classes, the population changed only minimally upwards. Only in category A (single-engine up to two tons) were ten more aircraft registered on December 31, 2020 than on December 31, 2019. Taking into account all other civil aircraft that are not considered in detail in this article, there were 2020 aircraft registered in Austria at the end of 1.835.

In the field of motorized aircraft in classes A to F, there has been a significant increase in recent years. Since 2016, the number has increased by around 21 percent. The growth in category F was particularly strong during this period: While 2016 machines were registered in 213, there were exactly 2020 units at the end of 414 - an increase of around 94 percent.

  • D: single and multi-engine more than 5.700 kg to 14.000 kg.
  • E: more than 14.000 kg to 20.000 kg with multiple engines.
  • F: more than 20.000 kg with multiple engines.
