On Sunday, October 25, 2020 at midnight, the tightening of the corona measures announced by the government will come into force in Austria. So-called face shields and “chin visors” are no longer allowed to replace masks after a two-week transition period. What is also new is that people who cannot wear an MNS for health reasons have to carry a certificate with them and, on request, have to present this to the executive, for example.
The Ministry of Health made it clear in a broadcast that the prescribed minimum distance of one meter in airplanes and public transport may not be exceeded. It is explicitly pointed out that the ordinance stipulates that a mask must be worn in such places.
Almost all European airports have already required mouth and nose protection to be worn in the terminals, but this is now also stipulated in the regulation and therefore mandatory. Incidentally, this also applies to underground stations, platforms, stops and train stations as well as their connecting structures.
Another new feature is that after the gastronomy closing time, alcoholic beverages may not be consumed within 50 meters of a restaurant. This also applies to petrol station shops with a catering license and to snack bars.
The other regulations are not really important for travelers, but if you are interested, the regulation under can be found on this link.
