Zurich-Kloten Airport had a total of 2021 passengers in October 1.613.866. In direct comparison with October 2021, 56,2 percent of the value at that time was reached. Compared to the same month last year, it was able to increase by 244,4 percent.

The largest airport in Switzerland attributes the latest figures to the traditionally higher demand during the autumn holidays. This also led to the fact that for the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic, more than 1,6 million passengers were in a single month. The same number of passengers were counted on individual peak days as on the peak days during the summer holidays.

The number of so-called local passengers was 1.263.788 travelers. 344.070 passengers changed trains in Zurich-Kloten. 16.717 take-offs and landings were carried out. The monthly comparison shows that flight movements are 69,5 percent of the 2019 level. The average number of passengers per flight was 126,4 passengers, 61,2 percent above the previous year's figure. Seat occupancy rose by 28,3 percentage points to 74,6 percent in the month under review. In the freight sector, Zurich recorded an increase of 51,3 percent. 39.132 tons of cargo were handled. Compared to October 2019, 1,3 percent more freight was handled.
