In the aftermath of Philippine Airlines' filing for bankruptcy, more than 20 planes have now left the fleet. Most of these were collected by lessors. At least one Airbus A350-900 will fly for Lufthansa in the future.
The machine, which was already registered as a D-AAEU, was transferred to Luqa (Malta) on Monday. Lufthansa Technik Malta will carry out technical work. This Airbus A350-900 is then to join the Lufthansa fleet as D-AIVC. An exact date for the commissioning has not yet been set.
The long-haul aircraft currently still has the livery of Philippine Airlines. The titles were removed before the transfer to Malta. The Airbus A350-900 will soon be repainted in the Lufthansa livery.
