The Australian regional airline Regional Express intends to fleet two Boeing 737-800. A corresponding declaration of intent has already been signed. The two machines are to be flown into the fleet in June and July 2023 and come from Singapore Airlines stocks.

"Rex's domestic services have performed very well and have been profitable for the past four months," said Rex Vice Chairman John Sharp. "Travellers have been calling for our reliable and affordable services in the face of Qantas' flagrant price gouging, and these new offerings will help ease the situation."

Regional Express has not yet decided on which routes the two Boeing 737-800s will be used. Sharp emphasizes that it is currently still in the evaluation phase and is examining all possibilities. The carrier's sub-fleet thus grows to nine Boeing 737-800s. Furthermore, they operate 58 Saab 340 in different versions as well as some smaller machines.
