The low-cost airline Ryanair will fly to Salzburg from Dublin, London-Stansted and Manchester in the winter flight schedule 2021/22. The two UK destinations will be offered on the Saturday traffic day from December 18, 2021 to March 26, 2022.
Stansted is laid out as a year-round route and is served several times a week. During the winter season, the flights are primarily aimed at winter sports enthusiasts who want to spend their vacation in the ski areas around Salzburg. The actual implementation of the seasonal routes from the UK to Mozart's city is most likely dependent on the further developments of the corona pandemic.
For Salzburg, flights by skiers are generally of particular importance, because the airport generates the majority of the annual turnover in the cold season. The 2020/21 winter flight schedule was actually a total failure, as only a few planes landed in Salzburg due to the tough entry and quarantine regulations.
