A 30-year-old woman actually wanted to fly from London-Stansted to Valencia to visit her boyfriend there. Due to a chain of unfavorable circumstances, she got on the wrong Ryanair plane unnoticed and arrived in Kiev-Borispil. There she felt really let down by the low-cost airline, because Ryanair does not have a service counter at this airport that she could have turned to with her request.

Opposite the British Daily Star the lady explained that she had probably mistaken the gates for each other. Her flight would have departed from gate 44, but she accidentally got on at gate 54 - just to Borispil. According to the woman, nothing would have been noticed during the boarding pass control, as no error message was displayed after the scan.

On board, the lady said she was suspicious and repeatedly asked the crew when the machine would arrive in Valencia. The only information she was given was that the flight time would be around two hours and 15 minutes. After landing, the lady noticed that she landed not in Spain, but in Ukraine. According to her own statements, she claims to have recognized this, among other things, from the police uniforms and the fact that Cyrillic characters were visible.

However, the entry took place without any problems, because only a stamp was affixed to the passport and the executive was no longer interested in the woman. However, the ground staff at Borispil Airport were amazed how it could be that the lady with a Valencia boarding pass was “stranded” at the largest airport in Ukraine. After she got stuck with Ryanair, the ground staff helped and arranged a free return flight to Stansted (on Monday) and a new Valencia flight on Tuesday. After the intervention of the hard-working Borispil airport staff, Ryanair also took over the accommodation costs.
