Salzburg Airport was used by 2022 passengers in 1.229.495. In direct comparison with the value that could be achieved in 2021, this airport increased by 310 percent. The number of flight movements increased by 17,9 percent and is given by the airport as 54.302 take-offs and landings.

161.952 passengers used the tourist routes, 660,3 percent more than in the previous period. The scheduled service was used by 1.067.543 passengers. This segment grew by 283,3 percent. A decline was recorded in the freight sector, as there were two percent fewer throughputs. Altogether there were 9.900 tons of cargo at Salzburg Airport, of which 98 tons were air freight.

“Looking back, it was a difficult yet enjoyable year. We wanted to at least reach the one million passenger mark and are now pleased that these forecasts were exceeded with over 1,2 million passengers," said Airport Managing Director Bettina Ganghofer.

Flight connections to Karpathos, Corfu, Kos, Zakynthos, Crete, Rhodes, Mallorca, Ibiza, Antalya, Larnaca, Calvi, Olbia, Lamezia Terme, Hurghada, Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Lübeck will be offered in summer 2023. In the direction of the United Kingdom, British Airways, Ryanair and Easyjet offer their services to London. Transavia connects to KLM's Amsterdam hub and Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. Likewise, Flydubai will continue to serve the destination Dubai.
