On the evening of June 22, 2022, the airline Croatia Airlines noticed a hole of around two by two centimeters in the fuselage of the de Havilland Dash 8-400 with the registration 9A-CQA. The pilots noticed this after landing in Sarajevo.

The crew had the initial suspicion that it could be a bullet hole. So the police were brought in. The public prosecutor then ordered an investigation for possible explosive residues. The all-clear was given because the authorities could not find anything that could indicate any form of shelling. However, it is unclear what actually caused the damage.

Croatia Airlines has since repaired the affected turboprop aircraft and put it back into scheduled service. Some flights planned with this type had to be canceled due to the AOG. The company emphasizes that the safety of the passengers and crew was never in danger.
