Schram weg - surprising change in leadership at Norwegian

There has been a change in leadership at Norwegian Air Shuttle. The previous head of the company, Jacob Schram, will be replaced by Chief Financial Officer Geir Karlsen. In the mandatory stock exchange announcement, the company gave no further reason for replacing the top management.

The change should take place this Monday. Karlsen was already the interim CEO of Norwegian Air Shuttle in 2019. He succeeded company founder Bjørn Kjos, who had to resign after another record loss. In November 2019, Jacom Schram was appointed CEO of the low-cost airline.

Norwegian had to file for bankruptcy in various countries in the wake of the corona pandemic. The fleet was reduced to 51 machines. The loss-making long-haul business has been completely given up and no longer wants to accept various orders from Airbus and Boeing. In the future, they want to concentrate on inland, Scandinavia and tourist routes in Europe.
