The financially troubled low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle also applied for state aid in Sweden and has now received a refusal. The authorities justified the decision by saying that loan guarantees can only be granted if the company was healthy before the outbreak of the pandemic. This is not the case with Norwegian, reports Reuters News.

The carrier was able to protect itself from bankruptcy by means of Norwegian government loan guarantees and debt waivers on the part of creditors. It is currently planned that 20 out of 150 machines will be used. Negotiations are also ongoing with lessors about the early return of some aircraft.
