On Thursday night, Air Malta operated the longest commercial flight in the company's history under flight number KM7510. This led from Luqa to Kigali.
There were 135.690 vaccine doses of the AstraZeneca preparation on board. These were donated to Rwanda by the Maltese government. The latest Airbus A320neo in the fleet was used: 9H-NED.
The flight time was about seven hours in each direction. The medium-haul jet covered 2.426 nautical miles each time. Air Malta emphasizes in a statement that it has demonstrated that the aircraft type Airbus A320neo is also suitable for longer routes from Luqa.
