The Latvian SmartLynx Group sees itself on course regardless of the corona pandemic. In a press release they explain that they have grown even during the crisis. The expansion took place in particular at the Maltese branch in the freight sector.

The fleet was expanded to 35 machines. Among other things, five AIrbus A330 widebodies were floated in. These are used as freighters and join the A321F.

"We recently had the opportunity to show how great the new planes are and have shipped a shipment around the world in just 7 days," said Zygimantas Surintas, CEO of SmartLynx Airlines. “One of our youngest customers had us fly from France to Chicago, with loading in Vietnam. The entire route took us around the globe: France-Cambodia-Vietnam-South Korea-Alaska (USA) -Chicago (USA). The necessary stops were made for refueling and for the crew to relax. "

SmartLynx Malta has been working for Deutsche Post-DHL with two Airbus A2021Fs since the beginning of 321. The machines are mainly used from the DHL hub in Leipzig / Halle. The fact that such prestigious companies choose to work with us shows that our professionalism and expertise are valued and respected, ”said the CEO of SmartLynx Airlines.

SmartLynx Airlines has also teamed up with the FTI Group, the third largest tour operator in Europe, for a non-stop connection from Berlin to Dubai. The first flight took off on October 4th and gave holidaymakers the opportunity to travel quickly and comfortably on an exciting Berlin-Dubai route.

In addition to improving the fleet and the services it offers, SmartLynx Airlines has also grown in size. In the second and third quarters of 2021, the company hired over 80 people for office teams in Riga, Tallinn, Malta. “As we focus on growing our professional team, we are working to ensure that every member at SmartLynx takes good care of themselves and the environment.
