The Indian low-cost airline is in the process of repositioning itself. The cargo flight area, which was rebuilt in the wake of the corona pandemic, will be outsourced to a subsidiary founded specifically for this purpose.
Currently, so-called Preighter is used under the SpiceXpress brand, but also relies on ACMI services from the Maltese company Hi Sky Malta. For example, the 9H-JAI bears the title of the client. At times the 9H-FOX and the 9H-SUN also flew on behalf of Spicejet, but they never received the SpiceXpress stickers.
Seven new domestic routes
In the passenger sector, the carrier wants to focus more on connections within India. In the course of these efforts, a total of seven new routes were announced. Six of them are completely new because they are currently not served by any other airline.
Most of the new routes will be added from the new base in Bhavnagar, Gujrat. Delhi, Mumbai and Surat are to be offered from there. These are state-subsidized routes. Other new routes are: Pune-Tirupati, Varanasi-Dehradun, Gwalior-Jaipur and Kishangarh / Ajmer-Mumbai.
The DHC Dash 8-400 is to be used as the aircraft type on the new routes, almost all of which are subsidized by the state. Depending on the demand, you want to use narrowbodies if necessary.
