Because of baggage fees: Unruly PAX threatens Spirit Airlines with bomb

A Spirit passenger said he had to make a bomb threat at Orlando Airport out of frustration with the budget airline's carry-on fees. Apparently that wasn't a good idea, as a Spirit Airlines supervisor immediately dialed XNUMX.

The "unruly PAX" actually wanted to fly from Orlando to Pensacola with his wife on February 2, 2023. But there were discrepancies regarding the hand luggage and an additional fee that the man would not pay. When he complained to the responsible supervisor, the situation escalated.

Then he slipped out, "I'll bet you everyone on that plane will get off because there's a bomb on that plane." This led to the final escalation, because such threats or remarks are not tampered with in aviation. The airline employee immediately dialed the emergency number and informed the executive about it.

It was immediately decided that all passengers had to disembark and that the Airbus A320 with the registration N641NK would be meticulously examined. Travelers' luggage was also searched. The "unruly PAX" then got to know the local police and the FBI better, among other things, because he was taken away by the executive branch.

Finally, Spirit Airlines flight NK1097 departed Orlando at 14:41 PM EST, took the 1 hour and 10 minute route northwest, and landed in Pensacola at 14:53 PM CST. The return flight, flight number NK1100, was delayed two hours at 16:07 p.m. CST and arrived in Orlando at 18:08 p.m. EST.
