Sun Express obliges passengers to check in online

The German-Turkish holiday airline requires its customers to check in online up to the day of departure and before their arrival.

If this is not done, five euros will be charged for checking in at the counter of the joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. The new regulation will only apply from March 23, 2023. This additional fee, which is only due if there is no online check-in, is still within reasonable limits compared to similar fees from other airlines. If a passenger only wants to check in at the airport, i.e. personally at the counter, and receive the boarding pass, the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, for example, charges a fee of around 30 euros.

According to the German online portal, several organizers have informed customers and sales about the new regulation Travel before 9. Sun Express already recommends customers to check in online. This would save a considerable amount of time at the airport, especially since the summer months were challenging for a number of airports anyway. In April, the airline introduced the so-called "Sun Priority" package. Since then, passengers have had their own check-in counter at a price of eight euros, they are the first to receive their luggage and are also the first group to board.
