The Turkish holiday airline SunExpress is saying goodbye to fixed prices for seat reservations. In the future, dynamic pricing will be used for this extra. The costs for this are now constantly being adjusted for each flight to the individual demand.

The logical conclusion from this is: the more people buy a seat reservation, the more expensive it is offered. SunExpress presents this in a broadcast in such a way that it would result in "more flexibility" for travelers.

In future, SunExpress guests will also be able to choose from a larger selection of five instead of two price categories when reserving seats on each flight. Previously, there was only one fixed price for all so-called XLEG seats with significantly more legroom and for all other regular seats when pre-reserving the seat of your choice. In the future, customers will have the choice between two price zones for XLEG offers and three price zones for regular seats. Due to the highly developed, demand-oriented price algorithms, passengers will in many cases benefit from noticeably lower tariffs. At the same time, SunExpress caps the maximum prices for a seat reservation so that a certain tariff is not exceeded.

"By making our prices for seat reservations more dynamic, we are making the tariff structure much more flexible," comments Roland Hans, Revenue Manager at SunExpress. “Our guests have more choice and will save a lot - at the same time we are taking a big step forward in the use of future-oriented technologies in the sale of so-called ancillaries. We are once again underlining our position as an innovative airline. "
