A hacker attack on the ground service provider Swissport leads to delays in air traffic in Switzerland. The company, which works as a service provider for numerous airlines, confirmed the incident. Parts of the IT infrastructure have failed.

According to the company, it is a so-called ransomware attack that is said to have started around 6 a.m. yesterday. Countermeasures have been taken, but there have still been restrictions. For example, the systems for disposition are affected.

The consequence of the incident is that there are delays in departures in Switzerland. The Swissport website is also affected. The vendor's IT teams are working flat out to fully resolve the issues.
