On January 10, 2023, a battery caught fire aboard the Sccot-operated Airbus A320neo, registration 9V-TNE, at Taipei Airport. The cabin crew intervened immediately and was able to avoid further consequences.

The medium-haul jet was on its way to the runway. Suddenly, an unspecified battery of a passenger caught fire. Photographs by eyewitnesses show that the fire spread quickly, but fortunately only locally. The flight attendants intervened immediately and were able to fight the fire.

As a result of this incident, quite a bit of smoke formed in the cabin of the 9V-TNE. The captain decided not to launch. The machine immediately went to a safe parking position. The passengers and crew members were able to disembark the Airbus A320neo safely via stairs that were pushed onto the aircraft. The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
