After the mixed main season 2021 with changing corona high-risk areas, Tuifly wants to extend the summer flight schedule and expand the available capacity of machines in autumn.

For example, the group airline will have additional connections to the Balearic Islands, Greece or Madeira from October through November. Tui announced this on Thursday. Classic winter destinations such as the Canary Islands or the Egyptian Hurghada would then be “more frequented”, it was said in Hanover. Because the interest of holidaymakers around the Mediterranean is also attracting again, 16 seats are offered on the planes.

“Relaxation in entry and exit as well as the deletion of Spain and Crete from the list of high-risk areas are driving up demand,” reported the new head of the core division Tui Germany, Stefan Baumert. "Turkey is currently classified as a high-risk area, but Antalya is still the most popular travel destination for the autumn holidays." The standards of hygiene and infection protection in Turkish hotels are high.

The Tui Group is dependent on business being significantly better overall compared to the first disastrous Corona year 2020. The Hanoverians receive billions in aid from the state and supplementary capital from their private shareholders. CFO Sebastian Ebel had recently indicated that the spread of the delta variant of the corona virus and the desire for later bookings could lead to an extension of the 2021 travel season.
