UFO board members Daniel Flohr and Louisa Collenberg announced their resignation on January 31, 2021. Flohr, who is currently chairman of the flight attendant union, will be available for another four weeks for an orderly handover and then retire.
A letter to the members reads: “We take our hats off. Over the past few weeks we've been thinking over and over about the right way to help UFO get back to work. Especially in the period before Christmas and after the turn of the year, we focused our energies on the immediate election of the new board. As it turned out, this is also not possible in agreement with other bodies. Our mistakes are still brought to the fore and the very fact that it is we who propose a choice leads to rejection. It cannot go on like this. The UFO and the board as a body have suffered enough damage in the last few months, you have to be able to trust that your choice will bring calm and enable you to look ahead. "
Both board members who have announced their resignation will remain members of the UFO. You can read: “We will of course remain a member, because the UFO is and will remain the correct and only representation of the cabin. (..) How things will continue, whether and when there will be new elections, is now decided by others. Have a little patience with them to sort the situation and get an idea. "
