The Cockpit Association is not happy about the unilateral termination of the crisis talks by the Tuifly management. The union stressed in a broadcast that it had previously signaled readiness for a “far-reaching and painful package of measures”. But this did not go far enough for the management.

“In this situation, we have to accept job cuts, for example as part of a volunteer program - but not layoffs. We expect the employer to fight with us for every single job ”, says VC official Marcel Gröls. “Here, the employer confronts us with a eat-or-die mentality that demands the unconditional fulfillment of all of his demands in return for possibly securing only a part of the jobs in question. We found ourselves in the middle of a process to develop different solutions. This confrontation is completely unnecessary and incomprehensible. From our point of view, it is crucial in the current situation that all stakeholders come to the table - the Group Management Board and the Lower Saxony politicians share the responsibility to develop viable solutions. "

According to VC, Tuifly wants to purchase the internal capacities that have been available so far and in return remove loyal employees from the balance sheet. Such a restructuring without prospects is not an option - especially for a group that is supported with billions of euros from the federal government. The Cockpit Association demands that the constellation and the discussion framework must now be changed in order to jointly achieve a solution in the interests of all Tuifly employees.
