The unilateral termination of the perspective agreement (PPV) by the Lufthansa Group is, from the point of view of Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), a completely wrong signal at the moment.

There is no need for this escalation. Lufthansa makes necessary constructive negotiations with the VC unnecessarily difficult. The termination is particularly damaging, since the JPA is a major "peace agreement" supported by both sides. It affects the cockpit staff at Lufthansa, Germanwings, Lufthansa Cargo, Lufthansa Aviation Training and even in parts at Condor and thus large parts of the entire pilotage in the group. For VC it is clear that in the future a comprehensive solution will have to be found for all airlines in the Lufthansa Group.

“With the termination of the PPV, the Lufthansa Group obviously wants to put pressure on the group of employees that has so far made the greatest contribution to the crisis for the LH Group. We strongly condemn that, ”says VC President Stefan Herth. “The pilots, with great loyalty to the company, have agreed to take a look at things and make major cuts. This was temporarily unavoidable as a responsible contribution to the economic stabilization of Lufthansa ”.
