The Spanish low-cost airline Volotea is about to expand its fleet with Airbus A320 aircraft. The Czech paint shop International Aerospace Coatings recently gave the first unit the livery of the lowcoster.

Only a few days ago, Volotea ended Operation of the Boeing 717. It was the last European operator of this type. In the meantime, the trip to the United States has already started. The fleet currently consists of 20 Airbus A319s. The first A320 destined for Volotea is currently parked at Ostrava Airport and has the registration EC-NNZ.

The medium-haul jet was previously used by Virgin America and Alaska Airlines and is 15,1 years old. The previous operator had the A320 with 146 seats. Volotea had that changed and built in all-economy seating with 180 seats. According to the current state of information, a sub-fleet of five A320s is to be built. The low-cost airline will also fleet up three more A319s.
