For an unusual reason, Ryanair flight FR9672 had to abort the landing at Weeze Airport on Saturday and take off. A small car broke through the security fence and continued dangerously close to the runway.
The Boeing 737-800 operated by Malta Air with the registration 9H-QDY initially moved to Münster / Osnabrück Airport and - after the situation in Weeze had calmed down - was transferred to the actual destination as the FR96.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 20:15 pm. The small car and driver were able to be stopped in "a side lane of the runway". The executive also declares that the driver is said to have been drunk. There were also indications of a previous medical condition, which is why he was hospitalized. A complaint has been made as to why a criminal case is flourishing.
