The Austrian Paralympics team is traveling with Austrian Airlines to the sporting event that will take place in Tokyo from August 24 to September 5, 2021. The first top athletes traveled to the Paralympics on Friday.

Francesco Sciortino, Chief Operating Officer, of the Lufthansa subsidiary said goodbye to the Austrian delegation personally on the apron in Vienna. “Our crew will fly the athletes and the Paralympic spirit to Tokyo with excellent service. As a proud partner of the Austrian Paralympic Committee, we wish all athletes every success for the games ”, said the manager.

Austrian will bring a total of 24 Austrian participants to the Paralympics in Japan in the coming days. The athletes represent Austria at the games in the sports of cycling, athletics, canoeing, riding, swimming, table tennis, triathlon and wheelchair tennis. Austrian Airlines currently flies from Vienna to Tokyo twice a week as scheduled. The largest aircraft in the fleet will be used, a Boeing 777 with over 300 seats.

“Austrian Airlines stands for quality and red-white-red highs. Our athletes have set themselves high goals for the Paralympics in Tokyo, and sport and travel are also linked by emotion - that's why this partnership fits perfectly in many ways, "says ÖPC President Maria Rauch-Kallat.
