The carrier claims that 70 percent of the debt to travel agents has already been paid. However, the Tyrolean Wirtschaftsbund chairman, Franz Hörl, doubts this and refers to his own public announcement.

In a media broadcast, the Tiroler Wirtschaftsbund repeated the demand that Austrian Airlines should settle its debts with travel agencies immediately. Announcements must also be followed by action, according to Chairman Franz Hörl. A broadcast showed that the situation at the travel agencies is unchanged.

It is also due to the actions of State Secretary Magnus Brunner and our persistent demands that there is now obviously movement in this matter, which is a burden for the economy, ”said Hörl. Austrian Airlines claims that around 70 percent of travel agency bookings have already been refunded. The chairman of the Tyrolean Economic Association doubts this: “The feedback from the industry shows a completely different picture. There are still a number of travel agencies that have not received a single cent since March. In the current situation, this is particularly beneficial for the travel agency sector, and for some it can even secure a living. The reimbursement of advance payments that have already been made reduces the financial pressure. This is about legitimate repayments! Now Austrian really has to accelerate the processing. "
