The low-cost airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has announced a new date for the first flight: On January 15, 2021, it is to go from the capital of the United Arab Emirates to Athens. Thessaloniki should be approached from February 4, 2021.
Initially, the new offshoot wants to serve both destinations twice a week. Subsequently, they also want to connect Kutaisi, Larnaca, Odessa, Yerevan and Alexandria with Abu Dhabi. The exact time of the recordings has not yet been determined because the company wants to wait for the further development of the corona pandemic and the associated travel restrictions.
“From January 15, 2021, a new model of flight is coming to Abu Dhabi, which offers new possibilities and new competition and shows that things are looking up for the next year. We look forward to building a new travel segment in this important market, ”said Kees Van Schaick, Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi.
The low-cost airline is a joint venture between the state-owned ADQ Beteiligungsgesellschaft and Wizz Air Holdings plc. The Abu Dhabi offshoot will be launched with a brand new Airbus A321neo. This had to be postponed several times due to the corona pandemic.
