Austria's Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) and Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) presented the “Corona Plan” for autumn and winter on Wednesday. The WKO tourism department reacts positively.

Chairman Robert Seeber sees the announcement that there will be no further lockdown as an important signal to tourism. It is an orientation aid for companies and guests with regard to the upcoming winter season. This is traditionally of importance for Austrian tourism this year.

“Security, predictability and the ability to plan future Covid protection measures are extremely important for our operations and, above all, for our guests from home and abroad. With the step-by-step plan presented today, we will hopefully have clarity for the next few months, ”said Susanne Kraus-Winkler, chairwoman of the Hotel Association. “We have to use this positive development for autumn and winter. For this, our businesses and our guests need clear framework conditions. In any case, it is important to prevent another lockdown. Our operations and employees have made a significant contribution to fighting the pandemic with numerous measures. The summer has shown that hygiene precautions and closely controlled 3G specifications work very well ”.
