The Maltese Lauda Europe will open the Zagreb base on July 23, 2021. The parent company Ryanair originally announced September 1, 2021 as the start date. Two Airbus A320 are to be stationed in the Croatian capital.
It is the second base operated for Ryanair in Croatia. Lauda Europe will also station two Airbus A320s in Zadar. Further bases of the carrier are Palma de Mallorca and Vienna. A total of 14 routes are to be offered from Zagreb. Malmö and Weeze were newly announced.
Lauda has its own homepage again
The homepage of the predecessor Laudamotion was discontinued some time ago. The “Lauda branding” of the Ryanair site no longer exists. It has been under for a few days www.laudaeurope.com a new website online. This is kept extremely simple and consists only of a Lauda Europe lettering, the logo, a rendering of an aircraft and a few buttons that lead to e-mail addresses or the Ryanair homepage.
It is noteworthy, however, that they are obviously looking for wet lease and charter contracts. This segment was not covered by the predecessor Laudamotion. One only flew on behalf of the sister company Ryanair DAC. The current design of the Lauda Europe homepage is a clear indication that the group of companies wants to establish itself more strongly in the charter and wet lease area under the Lauda brand.
While the predecessor Laudamotion marketed itself as “Austria's Low Fare Airline No. 1”, the successor Lauda Europe no longer mentions the Alpine republic. Quite the opposite: The background image clearly shows Malta and the slogan is unmistakable: “A Maltese airline that offers wet lease and charter services across Europe with a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft”.
