How quickly time flies: Ten years ago, Japanese All Nippon Airways launched the first Boeing 787 long-haul aircraft. At first you had to struggle with a few teething troubles, but now you are celebrating the anniversary with special flights.
Based on the first flight routes of the ANA with the first 787-8 ten years ago, the anniversary flights will be offered on the routes Tokyo / Haneda - Okayama and Tokyo / Haneda - Hiroshima. The passengers on these special flights will receive souvenir gifts and will be greeted with a water fountain upon arrival at Okayama and Hiroshima airports.
"The Boeing 787 is the most important aircraft type in our fleet and has helped ANA to further expand the already excellent customer service, expand our international route network and increase the efficiency of our flight operations," said Hideki Kunugi, Executive Vice President of ANA. “The planned special flights are an expression of our gratitude to our partner Boeing for the close and trusting cooperation. Boeing develops aircraft that meet our needs as an airline while also helping to make flight operations more environmentally friendly. The Boeing 787 will remain an important part of our fleet in the years to come, as it has proven itself extremely well over the past ten years. "
The upcoming anniversary events also include an online tour of Japan led by a pilot from the cockpit of a Boeing 787. The special flights are for October 31, 2021 under the flight numbers ANA 653 (Haneda 10:25 - Okayama 11:45), ANA 656 (Okayama 12:30 - Tokyo / Haneda 13:45), ANA 679 (Tokyo / Haneda 13: 10 a.m. - Hiroshima 14:40 p.m.) and ANA 680 (Hiroshima 15:25 p.m. - Tokyo / Haneda 16:45 p.m.) can be booked. A Boeing 787-8 is used in each case. ANA currently owns 36 B787-8 aircraft, 38 B787-9 aircraft and already 2 of the newest and longest B787-10s.
