Zurich-Kloten Airport has joined the United Nations Global Compact network for corporate responsibility. Among other things, you commit yourself to compliance with ten basic principles.

"Joining the Global Compact is a consistent further development of our sustainability strategy for Flughafen Zürich AG and its subsidiaries," says Stephan Widrig, CEO of Flughafen Zürich AG.

The airport operator has been setting goals in the area of ​​sustainability for many years, be it in terms of environmental protection or social responsibility. In 2019, for example, the company set the goal of “net zero CO2"Decided by 2050. By joining the world's largest initiative for sustainable business, the United Nations-sponsored “Global Compact”, Flughafen Zürich AG is strengthening its commitment to sustainable corporate development in its direct economic sphere of influence. The “Global Compact”, launched in 2000, unites more than 13 members in 000 countries. Following this global orientation, Flughafen Zürich AG is committed to the ten principles of the “Global Compact” not only at its largest location in Zurich, but also in particular at its foreign subsidiaries in the context of international business development. At the same time, Flughafen Zürich AG supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at its locations in Switzerland, India and South America.
