In October 2020, 468.616 passengers flew over Zurich Airport. This corresponds to a minus of 83,7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Despite a difficult assessment, the airport dares to make a forecast.

Flughafen Zürich AG assumes that international travel will remain at a low level over the winter months and expects 2020 to 8 million passengers for 9. In the optimistic case, it will be possible to return to the pre-crisis level “within the next few years”, according to the company. The number of flight movements fell compared to the same month last year by 64,9 percent to 8.440 take-offs or landings. Seat occupancy fell by 34 percentage points to 46,3 percent in the month under review. A total of 25.871 tons of freight were handled at Zurich Airport in October. This corresponds to a decrease of 33 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
