The crash of Flash Airlines flight 7K 604 already occurred in 2004. The airline has long since ceased to exist, but the then head of the company Mohamed Nour and other former managers are now being indicted in France.

On January 3rd, 2004 Flash Airlines was supposed to fly with the SU-ZCF from Sharm el Sheikh via Cairo to Paris. Around three minutes after take-off, the Boeing 737-300 crashed into the Red Sea for reasons that are still unknown. All crew members and the crew were killed. Most of the 148 people were French citizens on their way back from their vacation in Egypt.

The preliminary investigation was originally closed, but an appeals court ordered the resumption. Among other things, the public prosecutor's office failed to obtain detailed explanations from the former managing director of Flash Airlines. The preliminary investigation was resumed in September 2019.

According to information from the AFP agency, the former Flash Airlines boss, Mohamed Nour, was sent the indictment by post on December 16, 2021. He is accused, among other things, of the fact that crew members without the required qualifications and / or training are said to have been on board. There should also have been violations of the rest periods. Numerous security deficiencies have also been found in apron controls in the European Union. However, the exact cause of the accident could never be clarified, so that various theories are circulating.
