Air Serbia will expand its turboprop fleet with three more ATR72-600s. These are obtained from Nordic Aviation Capital.

The carrier has announced that it has signed a corresponding leasing agreement. However, the exact timing of the launch is not yet clear. Company boss Jiri Marek told CH-Aviation.com that the schedule and identity of the aircraft will probably be determined by the end of January 2024.

Air Serbia currently operates seven ATR72-600s. Taking into account the three new additions, the sub-fleet will consist of ten units in the future. The aviation company wants to use the additional aircraft to open up additional regional and feeder routes. The Serbian carrier was once again able to transport significantly more passengers last year. This is also, but not only, related to the fact that Serbia is not participating in the sanctions against Russia. With a change in Belgrade, numerous travel options can be offered between the European Union and the Russian Federation.
