In India, a decommissioned Air India plane once again got stuck under a road bridge. It is a machine that was decommissioned in 2021 and was bought at auction by a businessman.

The aircraft should be transported by land because it is no longer fit to fly. However, the transport company made a mistake when planning the route because they obviously made a mistake regarding the height of a bridge. The Airbus A320 then got stuck underneath.

It was supposed to go as a special transport by road from Mumbai to Assam. There the decommissioned machine was to be converted into a restaurant. But first it ended under a road bridge. The incident is a blueprint for similar events that have also affected former Air India aircraft. Already for the third time within a few years As a result, decommissioned airliners got stuck under Indian road bridges.

The latest incident occurred on December 29, 2023 under Piprakothi Bridge in Motihari. This caused quite a stir as many onlookers took photos and videos which were shared on social media. The transport company has already admitted that they had miscalculated the height of the bridge.

Air India had it, given two similar incidents in 2021, it is particularly important to distance yourself quickly. In a statement they expressly emphasize that they have nothing to do with this, because the aircraft has been sold and they have no influence on the actions of the new owner of this Airbus A320.
