There are a few minor changes to the Innsbruck winter flight schedule 2023/24 this year. For example, there will be more flights to/from Berlin and Hamburg in the future. An Amsterdam connection offered by Austrian Airlines is also new.

The Berlin-Innsbruck route will be not from the AUA this year, but served by its sister company Eurowings. There are likely to be primarily operational reasons behind this, as the German carrier maintains a base at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. In the 2022/24 winter flight schedule, Austrian Airlines flew on this route for a few weeks, with the Tyrol flights operating on the Vienna-Berlin-Innsbruck-Berlin-Vienna pattern.

According to available flight schedule data, the Eurowings connection is scheduled to be operated from December 23, 2023 to March 9, 2024. The flights are scheduled to operate on Wednesday and Saturday. In direct comparison with the Last year's offer, which was carried out by Austrian Airlines, Both the operating time and the number of frequencies have been increased.

“As part of an optimization of the Lufthansa Group route network, Eurowings, as a point-to-point carrier with its own base in Berlin, will take over the Berlin (BER) – Innsbruck (INN) route from the 2023 winter flight schedule. The route was previously served by Austrian Airlines. The Eurowings flights on the BER-INN route start on December 23rd and are offered twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays,” an Austrian Airlines spokeswoman explains to Aviation.Direct.

There will be an increase on the Eurowings route Hamburg-Innsbruck, as this will also be served on Wednesday. It is currently planned to fly on Wednesdays and Fridays between December 20, 2023 and March 29, 2024. In addition, there are also flights on Saturdays from December 2, 2023 to March 30, 2024. Flights will also be available on Sundays from December 24, 2023 to March 31, 2024.

Another innovation is that Austrian Airlines will operate between January 27, 2024 and March 30, 2024 will fly between Amsterdam and Innsbruck once a week. This puts you in direct competition with the KLM subsidiary Transavia.

You can only shake your head at the AUA INN-AMS plans. This destination is offered by Transavia 4x daily (!) (+ 3x Rotterdam and 1x Eindhoven daily) at favorable conditions. Why Austrian wants to get involved here remains a mystery.
