A passenger who was traveling with British Airways from Lagos to London Heathrow on July 29, 2023 was involuntarily unable to leave his seat in first class. The overweight traveler got stuck.

In the Boeing 777-300ER, the man had place 1A in First Class, which is considered to be quite spacious. After the landing, which took place without any problems, the overweight man noticed that he was stuck and could no longer get out of the seat on his own.

At first the flight attendants tried to help him, but this was to no avail. Technicians were then requested to remove a door in his mini-suite. The man was then lifted out of his seat using a winch.

Local media reports that the overweight man was deeply embarrassed by the incident. In addition, he was aware of his large volume and booked first class mainly for this reason, as this offers the most space with British Airways.
