On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared from radar en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It is very likely that the Boeing 777 crashed, but to this day we do not know where and certainly not why.

Legal proceedings by victims have now begun in the People's Republic of China. They sue for compensation due to the loss of relatives. Various insurance companies are faced with high demands. The trial is also receiving a lot of attention outside of China because the cause of the accident is still unknown. Usable wreckage has never been found.

Of the 239 passengers on board MH370, 153 had Chinese citizenship. Many are suing Boeing, the airline Malaysia Airlines and the insurance companies involved for compensation. Rolls Royce and the Allianz Group are also on the list of defendants.

According to information from the Reuters news agency, the claims that have been made in court and are now being negotiated amount to between 1,4 and 11,2 million US dollars per deceased person. There is talk that the cases of around 50 plaintiffs will initially be heard.
