From November 14th, New Zealand will relax its entry rules for the first time since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. However, only citizens and people residing in the Pacific state are still allowed to enter the country.
Instead of 14 days, they will soon only have to be in state quarantine for seven days before they go into domestic isolation for three days. Further relaxations would come into effect when 90 percent of the population had full vaccination against the virus, according to the ORF. So far, 72 percent of the five million residents have been fully vaccinated. In total, the country has so far recorded almost 6.000 Covid 19 infections. 28 people in New Zealand have died in connection with Covid-19. The country has long pursued a “zero covid strategy”.
