A bankruptcy petition filed against the Indian low-cost airline Spicejet was withdrawn due to an agreement. The real estate company Acres Buildwell had previously brought the aforementioned appeal to the court.
The matter dates back to September 2022, when Acres Buildwell filed for bankruptcy against Spicejet over a dispute over approximately $394.000 in outstanding payments. According to an Indian media report, however, an out-of-court settlement has now been reached, so that the application has been withdrawn.
There are other bankruptcy filings against Spicejet. For example, on the part of a leasing company and a company that leases engines. Spicejet defends itself against both legal remedies and emphasizes in a statement that the affected aircraft and engines have already been returned. We are negotiating out-of-court settlements.
